penelope did her first mommy/daddy and me soccer practice this past saturday at Vetta. The program is called Kickaroos and it's for 18-24 month olds. i wasnt sure how it was going to go, but we made sure to dress her the part. penelope has shown interest in soccer lately and likes to kick the ball and then yell "goal" and cheer like crazy for herself.. we figured this would translate into a soccer star.
and shockingly enough - we were actually right.
she kind of rocked.
we got there a little early, she ran right on the field and started kicking. she can "dribble" from one end of the field to the other like a pro. she "scored" several goals and did great. once it was really time for practice to start she wasnt as interested... she much preferred just running and scoring. she did however do a great job with "stopping" the ball by putting her foot on it and saying 'tada' and also kicked butt and won the race.
some photos below of my little champ. i told her we were expecting a full scholarship wiht those skills. she seems to be agreeable to this because she said about 18 times on the way home "come back soon? soccer ball. come back soon?"
