lazy week

i've been a little lazy the past week with the blogging.  sick baby, sick parents = pretty low key week in the hoffman house.  however - i do have some pics of penelope froom this week - no real them here - just a week in review :)

i posted a video earlier - but here is one of penelope loving her exercauser... i think more than the toys - she enjoys this new view of the world.  this kid loves to be standing up... getting over the whole laying on her back thing...

i have been a little lazy with posting this week - not sure where the time went.  took only a few pics but am now trying to catch up on some videos.

penelope has been busy learning lots of new things this week!  and getting over another nasty cold.  poor little lady is alwasy fighting something. gotta love cold and flu season with an infant!  our house is jsut one big germ. we went back our ear infection 2 week check on monday and that was all cleared - which great news!  and penelope is  now 13 lbs and 12 oz - what a porker!!!

on saturday - we finally got penelope to roll over!  her first roll over from her belly to her back - she get sooo proud of herself when she does it.

another first for penelope is using her exercauser!  she seems to really like it!  we have to put towels around her belly to prop her and under her legs cuz she is kind of short - but she is definately strong enough and has soo much fun!!!

she is soo good at it though i think it more like fart noises.

grants farm!

we had soo much fun with aunt lisa and uncle kevin in town this weekend!  was nice to get to spend so much time together and for them to get lots of one on one penelope time.  she loves her aunt lisa!!!  and nothing is funnier than when kevin holds her... she looks even tinier!! :)

we took penelope with us 3500 winehaus on saturday afternoon for aunt christas bday and she was sooo good!  she hung out for awhile in her stroller, got passed around the table.  ate, napped, pooped, (it was a 2 person cleanup) and overall was just a good little girl.... we had so much fun!

then we came back to our house (just in time - penelope hit her crabby bedtime). aunt lisa gave penelope her bedtime bottle then she was off to sleep while the growns hung out outside with buff chx dip, wine and uncle jeff and aunt christas captain morgan apple cidar and a fire.  was a perfect night! even better cuz miss penelope slept through the night again - this is becoming pretty regular now - and it's awesome :)

on sunday we all went to cafe affton for breakfast - recommede by uncle jeff - and was fantastic!  mom, dad, penelope, aunt lisa, uncle kevin, aunt christa, uncle jeff, uncle trent, and uncle mark all went - was a fun brunch!  penelope had a great time being passed around and putting on her normal show :)

after that uncle trent went back to school and uncle mark headed home and the rest of us went to grants farm for the day... see pics below....

tummy time

we have been really pushing tummy time with penelope lately.  but she is so much more happy on her back, sitting up or trying to stand when you hold her.  i am thinking she might be one of those kids that skips crawling cuz she hates her belly so much.  but regardless.... we try.

aunt lisa and uncle kevin came to visit this weekend and we had so much fun!!!  but i think the most fun was had by gatsby and mango. long last best friends that haven't seen each other since mango was a baby - and penelope was in mommy's belly... i think their reunion went well...

chatty cathy!

penelope has become quite the chatty cathy lately.  although it's hard to catch on video cuz she seems to just freeze and stare at the video camera... i have to be sneaky.

here are a few clips i've gotten of her in the past couple weeks:

1.  laughing: this one is hilaroius.  she has a very deep laugh.  her voice is really high when she baby talks, but her laugh is more of an in your gut laugh.  we can't even tell if it's laughing sometimes... no high pitched giggles for this kid

we went back to the dr today becuase we were going on day twelve of the cold and it was getting worse.  along with a fever spike of 101.6 when gma d was babysitting on saturday.  turns out penelope has her first ear infection!  no fun for baby girl or mom and dad.  she FREAKED OUT when the dr. checked her ear on the infected side. turns out that hurts.  and everyone within 10 miles heard how bad it hurt. for about ten minutes.  good news is that penelope has medicine now!  she gets amoxicillin 2x a day for ten days, along with tylenol every four hours and ear drops every 3.  lots to keep track of - but it's nice to know that there is a way to make her feel better. we are suppossed to see a differnce in 48 hours and go back to the dr in ten days for a check up.  we have also learned that penelope HATES getting her amoxicillin.  mom and baby are both covered in it from round one.  penelope's neck fat is wear she is storing her medicine for later. 

during all her sick issues these past couple weeks we did manage to find a few minutes of happy penelope time...

i love all the rolls.  and that she has no knees.

finally passed out. of course only when mom is holding her..my smart little girl... thinking in her sleep...
