conversations with penny

i really have to get a book to write down some of the things penny says on a daily basis.
in the interim - all you in the blogworld get to see it online.

a couple recent conversations with penny:

1.  Convo penny had TV while watching her name favorite show "team umizoomi"

TV: "what color is this butterfly"
Penny: "it's PINK"
(it was black)

TV: "how many cars do you see"
Penny: "TWO" "NINE" "BLUE"
(there was one)

TV: "where is the butterfly"
Penny: "THEREITIS" (all one word)
(it was still hiding - she was pointing at nothing)

at least she is interacting :)  she is soo confident of these answers. yells them out and points at the tv.  awesome entertainment for kris and i.  We help and correct her sometimes but that seems to confuse her.  If she says a bug is blue and it's actually black.  I'll so "no it's black".  But then if i ask her another bug that is blue - then the answer is black. Basically whatever color she heard last is the new answer for the next question.  VERY short memory!

2.  Penny and I were outside playing yesterday and she noticed the moon was out early.  Convo went a little something like this:

Penny: "no no no.  go away moon. no no"
Me: "yep - there's the moon"

Penny: "no no no moon - not night night. go home to you mommy"
Me: "it's okay penny, you dont have to go night night yet"

Penny: "put it way. put moon away"
Me: "well i can't put it away but you dont have to go night night yet"

Penny: "penny put way." jumps up.  "UGH. can't reach. help"
Me: "well i can't help you reach the moon"

Penny: "MOMMY HELP. PUT AWAY."
Me: I pick her up and try to reach it.  clearly there was no luck

Penny: sees neighbors and runs down the street yelling "help penny put moon way.  can't reach.  jump. night night  moon. go home you mommy"

needless to say they failed as well. thought it was precious but were also failures.

sorry i couldnt help with this one penny. I have a feeling we will have way more of these convos as it stays light later.  should I jsut tape record myself now and save my breath?
