some of my favs from penny lately:
she has been sooo sweet with me as I've been sick these past 8 or so weeks. she rubs my head when i'm on the couch, whispers while she plays if i fall asleep, and alwasy says "it's okay mommy. you'll feel better when the baby comes out. then you be back to yourself" :)
she always asks EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. if the "baby come out of your belly yet?" and "does your baby have arms yet?" I made the mistake of showing her an early ultrasound. the little blob that was suppossed to pass for a baby has her very concerned that her sibling has no head, arms or legs. I've assured her that i'm worked hard to grow them :)
"my mommy has a baby in her tummy. it's real deep in there. that's why we can't see it"
at dinner one night we were talking about potty training and going on the potty. in typically penny form she ignored us until about ten minutes later when she says "I dont need to pee in a big girl potty. I peeing right now. Hey - i pooping right now too" (all while at the dinner table - classy girl)
if we are walknig up the stairs and I walk up faster than her... "hey! you forgot something! you forgot me - penny hoffman! dont forget penny hoffman!"
when i tell her - "you are my favorite little girl". she responds with "you are my favorite big mommy". um... thank you?? i think?
she is very lovey lately. tells kris and I all the time how much she loves us - and it's pretty freaking awesome.
driving home from school one day I told her that mommy has a headache. she responds "i have a headache too mommy. right here in my chest"
we have been watching way too much tv at dinner and i'm trying to get penelope to pay attention and have a conversation with us at dinner. so i told her we were turning the tv off and we were going to talk about the best parts of our day. I started by asking her "penny- what was your favorite part of your day?" her immediate response "my favorite part of my day was when you let me watch that tv" well played.
she is VERY sensitive. has a hard time getting reprimanded and usually means she gets her feelings hurt. when she does she usually cries and her go to thing to say is "that's not very nice to me. you shouldnt say mean things to your kids." (there is a gabba episoe about not saying mean things to yoru friends... she has turned that into a lecture for us whenever we say mean things - aka telling her no).
penny is constantly talking about all the things she is going to do when she's older. her favorite way to start a conversation like that is "when i get to grown up" like "grown up" is a place. "when i get to grown up i'll have big holes in my ears" (earrings). "when i get to grown up i'll drink coffee and wine like mommy" (i swear i'm not drinkign it pregnant - quit judging) :)
sorry for a blog dumb with no photos but every once in a while like to capture some of the awesomeness that is my little monster :)
