lost post???

so mabye i'm crazy but i think i'm missing an entire post... of penny and calvin on their last visit??

either it's missing or i just forgot to write it.

penny has been helping kris with his garden this year.. she was there to help him "build" it, plant it and most importantly water it.  so it's only fair she gets to help in the harvest.

i LOVE watching them garden together.. one of my favoite things to watch.  and i love that its THEIR thing.

penny had a hard first few days after we left... kept asking to go back to the "big house" aka the condo to "play with my friends".  could not understand how she had 24/7 friends who suddenly weren't there...  as soon as she grows 2 more inches... i'm ready for round 2!!!!

vacation!

sorry blog world... been a little MIA lately between vacation, travel for work, and just plain chaos of life..

but it's time to get caught up...

we went on vacaton a couple of weeks ago to branson mo with our friends in the Q family.  this was the second vacation we'd ever done with penny.  we did florida last year and it was a bit of a bust... location was awesome, weather was great, lots of fun family, but penny was sick as a dog..

so we were a little gun shy this and went low key - just went a few hours to branson, mo, stayed with some friends at a condo and did water and rides... turned out to be teh perfect vacation for a 2 year old.

penny had a blast and i think left with her first boy friend.

penny and donovan  hit it off like crazy... it was hilarious and adorable. they ahve played plenty of tims before but never this much!  and she was in absolute HEAVEN have a 24/7 budddy.  they were pretty much joined at the hip and were awesome.

we were SOOO proud of penny... she was jus tplain excellent.  a really fun travel companion and game foranother... cant wait for the next vacation.

only complaint on this one was she was a bit too short of the rides... 36 in was the hard and fast cut off for most rides at silver dollar city... and while she was dying to go on the rides... she just wasnt tall enough.

although she LOVED every ride she COULD go on and was a champ.  arms in the hair like everythign was aroller coaster - love my little dare devil!

so many great memories and so many photos... sorry if this is wordy and crammed with photos... just cant help it :)

in four short days we managed to cram in the following: 2 trips to silver dollar city, outlet shopping, white water water park, several trips to the condo pool, butterfly house mirror maze, crappy souvenir shopping, trout hatchery, playground trip, dinner at a dinner, picnics in the condo, several game nights for the adults and plenty of lime time for the moms and dads, as evidenced below:

penelope is officially paci free.  never thought it would happen, and happen so easily.  but like most things with penelope, she will do what she wants on her own time table.

on saturday night as she was going to bed she handed me the green paci she calls "gamma's paci" and told me "give back to gamma, i no need this".

i wasnt about to question her.  so i took the paci, kissed her good night and left the room.  she still had another one in her bed but I didnt want to push it.

then on sunday as we were going to the magic house to meet up with baby calvin and aunt lisa she told me "give my paci to calvin"  so we took her car paci and gave it to calvin.

i told her how proud i was of her and she told me "i big girl now.  calvin baby. he need my paci".

finally, last night, i took away paci number 3 (the final one her bed) - and she didnt make a peep.  

paci's GONE!  love her.

we told her that if she gave calvin her paci she could get a brand new rocketship.

based on the video below, and the million times a day she yells "1, 2, 3 blastoff" you can tell this was a good bribe:

i am SOOO proud of my big girl! (and a little sad as well).

she is just jumping from baby to big girl like crazy this summer!  it all needs to slow down...
