family zoo day!

uncle kevin, aunt lisa and cousin calvin visited this weekend and we had a great time!  they got in late on friday night and penny was already in bed but the rest of the crew was over at our house waiting for them to come.  what turned into just a little hangout became a late night of drinking!  we didnt get to bed until 2 am.  not sure what we were thinking with 2 little kiddos in the house.  who did NOT seem to care that their parents were up late and were ready to go at 6:30am.  we started the day with yummyy lunch at Joey B's with the whole family: me, kris, penny, lisa, calvin, kevin, tony, trent, mark, gma, gpa, uncle jeff and aunt christa.  (dont worry lizzie - there was a red head at the zoo that looked like you).

we then took the whoel crew to the zoo.  it was packed that day but still there was one of our clan everywhere you looked :)

calvin slept most of the time and penny liked the animals better from a distance but they all had a GREAT day. not sure why it was so exhausting but we were all beat after that!  the grownups were all passed out by 9:30 - i felt like i had been day drinking!  uncle kevin, aunt lisa and calvin came back over today for a photo shoot with darci (those photos later) and another visit wtih us and uncle tony.  Penny loved having her cousin around (although she was not very cooperative on the photo shoot).  however... she crid at the door and asked for "calvin come back" several times today :)

little lady LOVES to bake with mommy.  she is excellent at making cookies. she starts with mixing up the dough, then adds her own touches (usually "choc chips") and then she waits at the oven until the timer goes off.

once it goes off she yells, "cookies DONE!"

i mentioned in a previous post that penelope is very into pretend lately.  well that stretches to playing dress up as well.  her latest obsession is wearing cowboy hats, tutus, sunglasses and fairy wings.  sometimes separate, some times all together :)

this morning she asked for her pink dress.  which after about 10 minutes i realized meant her yellow tutu.  obviously.  she spent all the day twirling in her "pink dress" then added fairy wings to complete the look.

god she is all girl.  how is that possible?  she really can't get any girlie!
