drunk penny

i love this video.

 

after bathtime last week (yes, that's right - i said bathtime - more to come on that later), penny was playing in our room and discovered a little corner to play hide and seek.

the hide n seek by itself is adorable.  the face that she looks totally drunk and can barely stand up while playing - well that part is priceless.  and has earned it's own blog post.

christmas 2011

the awesomeness continues.  penny was honestly perfect this whole holiday.  holidays are exhausting for everyone... especially for people with huge loud families... but penny was great.  she was soo much better than last year.  she did great with everyone (still pretty indepent - not really into being held much) but was a happy happy girl.  stayed up late all weekend with out any crabbiness and went to bed like a champ and slept liek one too.  she didnt get to sleep last night until after 10:30.  slept until 9:30 am and is now past hour three of her nap. 

did i mention i love that kid?

christmas was amazing.  we slept in til about 8 then woke up and did christmas with out little family... gave penny her presents and played with them for a bit before getting ready to go to gma and gpa d's hosue with mommy's brothers and sisters.

penelope loved her kitchen and her new race car track.  she "cooked" me a hamburger in the ktichen (by using the refridgerator and coffee pot but i'm not judging).  then we had a quick little breakfast (for real) using our new brobee plate and silverware.

when we got to grandpa and grandmas first step was obviously seeing the baby calvin then on to presents!!!  penny has some awesome family cuz she got some pretty great presents... a fantastic dollhouse from gma and gpa and tons of "rooms" for it from everyone... she especially loves all the baby stuff for the doll house and the car that has carseats for the babies and comes with a doggie.  she alos LOVES her yo gabba gabba boom box from uncle jeff and aunt christa and danced like crazy with it and really looking forward to playing iwth her new finger paints from uncle kevin, aunt lisa and baby calvin on her new easel. 

i think the favorite presents that were given this year hd to be the bikes from gma and gpa d to ride together.  we made them promise to call us when they hit that trail for the first itme so we can witness this in person :)

after lots of fun with mommy's family it was off to great gma ls for more christmas partying! (penny started saying "party" really excited this weekend every time we put her in the car).

she had a great time at great gmas playing with her cousin ava and then having a dance party in teh sunroom.  with coutnry music blaring penny joined in the dancing fun for a solid hour of cxraziness (already well past bedtime).  she kept running in to get daddy then grabbed him by the hand and brought him in to dance with her.  adorable.

we finally headed home around 10:30 and called it a night.  i think penny had a little left her in but mommy and daddy had to be the party poopers.

christmas came so fast this year it's hard to believe it's all over already... but it was pretty fantastic.

we had so much fun with all the friends and family and thanks to everyone who made this christmas so memorable for penelope!

my big girl :)

penny did not show too much interest in holding calvin until today... actually, at first i started to think she liked her fake babies and pictures of babies better than the real thing.

until she got her little paws on him.

she is one proud mommy here.  she did great and so did calvin.  he was a champ and penny held him like a pro (and thankfully didnt toss him around like her other babies).

her face cracks me up becuase she is just soo damn proud of herself and what a big girl she is!

i love that kid.  and i love my little nephew

was an awesome christmas (more photos to come).  can't wait to see the cousins together more often...



christmas eve 2011

well miss penelope... i dont think i've ever been more proud of you!

you were amazing tonight!!!  you were never one for large crowds and lots of people.. so i dont know if that's changing or if you are just making a last minute run at getting more christmas presnets.

you have been an angel... actually you have been perfect these last few weeks... loving going to parties and even saying "party" and clapping when I tell you we are going bye bye.

you must be making up for that bad impression you made on santa...

and it's working.

in fact... a certain someone promised you a puppy....

we started out christmas eve at uncle joe's house for christmast with grandpa d's side of the fmaily. (although lately you have been calling grandpa d"grandpa more" since he alwasy has more cookies for you..)

penelope was great just like last week.  she ran around and played, ate too much, chatted with people, did a few dance moves and got to meet her new cousin calvin - which was so excited about.  add in cousin marie and presents and that's ahomerun for penny. 

and apparently we learned that penny knows about money.  she got some monies from great gpa and she took it out of the envelope and ran arond holding in the air.. i swear i didnt teach her to make it rain...(but i wish i had cuz it was awesome).

penelope anne, you were amazing tonight.  i love you little girl and mommy and daddy are sooo excited for christmas wiht you tomorrow.  you are the best child we could ask for and love every minute of you.  i know there are so many people that are not as lucky as we are because they dont have you.  we love you perfect girl.  merry christmas.  we are blessed.



kissing cousins

well it's christmas eve and i think penelope's favorite present so far is meeting her cousin calvin.   she doesnt quite grasp the concept of "family" yet and doesnt even know that calvin is her cousin.  to her he's just an awesome baby that she wants to kiss... but judging from the pictures below... i think these two will have quite the bond as they get older (whether calvin likes it or not i have a feeling).

she was soo excited to meet him and we have been looking at pictures and videos for the past month.  she already gets excited from jsut phots so i expected a happy reaction... and she did not disappoint..

i'm not sure calvin enjoyed getting the loving as much as penny enjoyed giving it...
