first zoo trip!

on fathers day this year, we did penelope's first zoo trip!

she had a good time, but was more interested in the non zoo stuff - i.e. - kithcen at the kids zoo and water squirters...

and of course we ended the trip with making a build a bear :)

HAPPY FATHERS DAY :)

yesterday penelope celebrated her second fathers day with her daddy- but the first that she has any chance of remembering :)

mommy and penny tried to have a great day for daddy so i hope he had fun.

because, he is basically the best dad anyone could ask for and penny and her mommy are so lucky to have him.

i seriously could never do this child raising thing without him or with anyone else.

we love you kris (and daddy).

we had bread co for breakfast, played in the pool, and hung ou with the families - overall it was a great (and exhausting day).

hope all the other daddy's out there had a great day as well :)

one year check up :)

we had our one year checkup for miss penelope today and it went.. interesting..

penelope is doing great on everything - no issues there - howver, she did not take kindly to any aspect of the visit - getting weighed and measured - hated.

the doctor walking in - hated.

the doctor touching her and examining her - hated.

the dr touching her ears - REALLY hated.

the nurse walking in - hated.

the nurse pricking her finger - holy crap did she hate.

down hill from there.

followed by 4 shots.

lets just say it was a rough afternoon.  for penny, for mommy, for daddy, for dr norton, for nurse michelle, for the entire dr. offices and probaly anyone in the vacinity of watson.

Penelope's Birthday!!!

well, i'm a little behind on this post - it's been a crazy week!

penelope had a great birhtday (if i do say so myself) although she wasnt exactly cooperative the whole time.  but what can you expect from a 1 year old!

Friday after daycare we had the grandparents to the house (well to our temporary house) and ordered a bunch of food from blarney stone and a happy meal for penelope :) Her first happy meal - seems appropriate for her bday - chx nuggets!  she loved it!

we let penny destroy her bday cupcake and then time for presents! she had a great time on friday n ight and LOVED her present from mommy and daddy (thanks Darci).

overall it was a great night.. but i think she may have stayed up too late - cuz party day was a bit rough!

penny was not in a great mood when people arrived, but after a nice nap in the mdidle of the party -she was much ahppier!  penn got amazing presents and everyone had fun at the super HOT party.

penny wasnt super cooperative about wearing her dress but she looked soo pretty in the outfit gma d made for her!!! we are going to have to wear it again!

however, i think the winning gift has to go to uncle tony - penelope loved her Lagoon and that was actually her happiest time of the day!

turns out all the partying must have been too much for mommy and penny though cuz mommy woke up the next day with a 102 fever and strep throat and penny ran a fever that evening and ended up at hte dr that week with an ear infection.

after we were both armed with a z pack (grown up for mommy, baby version for penny) both of us are feeling quite a bit better now and ready for another weekend - this one a bit more relaxed :)
