dying (or should i say eating) easter eggs

we made our first attempt at dying easter eggs a couple weeks ago... penelope was not super interested.. just wanted to eat the eggs...

notice the tongue sticking out and trying to eat the egg/drink the water

some new stuff....

penelope has been learning some new stuff lately.. thought i'd share in a hodge podge post - sorry - been lazy blogger lately!!

1. sippy cup!! she loves it. mommy doesnt love the mess she makes with it...

2. ball popper. just recently discovered the beauty fo a ball popper. this one was from aunt mickey... she loves to shoot the balls out and then chase then around the house... tortures poor gatsby!

3. peekaboo! penelope LOVE peekaboo. we play ALL the time lately! She holds her arms up and peeks her eyes through and then has this adorable little expentant smile while she waits for you to say peek-aboo! and laugh... we do this before bedtime with pink puppy.. it's our new mommy/penny game... evne though she is able to sneak a few more minutes of cuddle time/staying up late - i love the game. i'd play forever. she usually gets bored before me.

4. standing right by the tv. when yo gabba gabba is on she must be RIGHT by the television. it's soo adorable. i'm sure it's bad for her ears/eyes/whatever.. how freaking cute is she?

5. sleepy girl... she still gets up super early but on the rare mornings where we have to wake penelope up...she's not exactly pleased about it... closes her eyes real tight and fights to go back to sleep for a minute.

i love sleeping babies... so cute. i have to fight the urge most nights to not pick her up out of bed and hold her when she is sleeping... just so sweet...

puppy love

i think i'm already told everyone about penelope's obsession with pink puppy and her love of dogs. but now i'm pretty sure she loves just any sort of puppy - fake, real, whatever.

we stll our all our time favorite cuddle toy - pink puppy. pink puppy goes everywhere. she started out as a bed time friend, but quicky became an all the time friend... in fact - for miss penelope's one year photos next month - pink puppy will be joining.

penelope's other stuffed puppy love is blue puppy. we are very original with our names... she LOVES to hug and cuddle blue puppy. if you tell her to kiss or hug him she gets really excited, crawls to blue then does a french kiss/hug combo. :)

i think we need a second dog in the house - after all, if its for penelope can daddy really say now?

nakey time!

i've been a bit blog lazy lately.. my apologies... having the house on the market does not lend to a lot of ree time in the evenings to catch up on my baby blogging.

however... in this blog i've given you a double freature... the 10th month update... and nakey baby!

10 months:

This child is out of control - i'm pretty sure she learns something new every day!!!

it's hard to keep up.

lately we are pulling up on everything, cruising around, learning to sit by bending the knees and the newest accomplishmnet... walking with a walker. it's a mini heart attack for kris and i but penelope loves it.

unforntunatley she does not have much of house to do this walking in but we found one hallway that we just keep going up and down.

penelope isnt know for her patience either... a screaming fit ensues when she hits a wall or a piece of furniture. She cant' figure out how to go backyards yet and she just throws a fit til you turn her around. so we just go back and forth for about 10 laps. she has been sleeping pretty soundly though at night so i'mm pretty sure this walking thing is exhausting...

i dont think we have much longer til she takes off. been trying to stand a lot on her own and can do it for a minute...then falls and gets pissed.

one thing we are noticing about penelope is soomething or someone hurts here - she has a MEAN look she will shoot its' way. If she falls and hits a toy... after she has been approporiately cuddled by mommy or daddy... she whips her head around to glare at the offended toy that had the audacity to hurt her

good luck to the first kid at daycare or preschool who pisses her off...

food wise the chunker just keeps eating! the one thing she got from her mother is terrible eating. not a fan of many veggies but loves cheese and carbs. we have to feed her veggies before she can see any pasta, cheese or fruit or the veggies wont happen.

still loves bananas. however, she choked on bananas last night... coughed it up... pulled it out of her mouth and glared at that banana like she was going to destroy it.

again - dont piss this child off.

dancing is our other new trick. still LOVES yo gabba gabba more than anything and likes to sit in front of the tv and watch her show and dance... video below...

i feel l iek i could go on forever as penelope is just changing so much everyday... new tricks, new attempts at works and just new pieces of her personality forming and breaking through... she's perfect.

does any get in her mouth?

if you have ever met my daughter.. it's clear she doesnt miss any meals.

but.. if you've ever watched my daughter eat... then you wonder how she is so chunky.

does any food ever actually make it's way in her mouth?

example 1: banana stuck in chubby hand.

Example 2: trying to eat, but all food appears to be on outside of her hand - any in mouth?

Example 3: we almost have a victory - some in mouth... (it fell out shortly after this photo).

Example 4: all food is in her eyebrows. no way any made it in mouth...

i stand corrected! i see a noodle in there!

yo gabba gabba

penelope has one tv show that is "her show". she loves it. the music starts and she stops whatever she is doing (destroying) and crawls over to watch..."yo gabba gabba"

now this is one of those shows that i swore i'd never let me kid watch. sounded weired, sounded annoying... but let me tell you a little secret. if you find ANYTHING that will entertain your child for more than 10 minutes... you will allow it. short of porn, she can watch whatever she pleases if she is quiet, happy, and stays in one place long enough for me to unload the dishwasher, get her dinner ready, and pour a much needed glass of wine. hell... some nights i might even allow porn if it'd let that all happen in one uninteruppeted stretch.

troublemaker

well ... you may have noticed that little miss penelope is mobile now.. this makes for a troublemaker...

she loves to look out the window.. crawls over to the window or the door all the time!

mommy decided to go outside and take the view from the outside looking in... could only stay out so long... looking at that little fae - who wouldnt want to go back in!
