busy day!

mom had her six week dr. appt check up yesterday and everyting is all good! i not only got the all clear from the dr, I also got to show off our baby girl! who was a hit at the office... she walked around and meet all the drs and nurses who all loved her :) but then again - who doesnt... and i never get tired of hearing how pretty she is! from there penn went with me to meet up with some of my work friends for lunch - she showed off again. all awake and babbly with big old eyes... after a long day like that - penelope will fall asleep anywhere in any position...

penn is getting more and more aware and alert everyday. her awake periods are much longer and she is probably up for about 30 percent of teh daytime hours now.. and i love every minute that those big blue eyes are looking at me... she seriously getting more and more beautiful everyday... dont you agree?

visit with aunt lisa

penelope got to visit with aunt lisa this weekend! first we went to lizzie's dance recital where penn looked adorable. she rocked out her purple tutu from joe/flo and an adoralbe little black bow and a white onesie. since we had assigned seats, i just carried her in instead of trying to bring in the carseat. i guess i forgot how little she still is because we were stopped right on our way in and asked if she was a real baby! seriously? do i look like the kind of crazy person who carries around fake babies? we stopped by gma/gpa d's this am as well so aunt lisa could see her miss penny again... some photos of them together...

when awoken at 3 am by suspicious gun-shot sounds (which we later realized were firecrackers)... instead or being worried, concerned or scared... my first thought was that whoever is playing with a gun better put it away before i shoot them myself for waking up the baby.

Penn is so sweet to cuddle with... you dont even need any hands to hold her... she just hangs on tight....

sitting up

lately penelope loves to sit up. just seems happier taking in the world. so we sit her up on the bed or the couch and she is happy just to look at the world around her. or stare at her hands which she jsut seems to have discovered. kris walked over the pack n play the other day to see her just staring at her hands... awesome.

i can't remember where we got this one (gma h?) but i love this outfit on her... again it's 0-3! i love that she is getting bigger and can wear her clothes and how cute does she look - love the pockets on the butt! penelope, mom and aunt liz went to surprise gma d at work today - and penn got to show off her cuteness. although i was on the phone at first and everyone thought it was lizzie's baby since she was walking around with her... damn i wish i looked that good right now :) we also h it up south county mall where penelope is quite the hit.. i love takingg her out - everyone stops to tell me how cute she is. and i can actually take credit for this one... i totally half made her!

0-3 months!

it's a big day for miss penelope -she finally fits into 0-3 month clothing and not just newborn! our wardobe has increased exponentially.. here she is rocking a onesie from aunt lisa and uncle kevin that was huge just 4 weeks ago... my baby is becoming a chunker :)

oh - in othher penelope news.. she really is chubby. we switched nipples on her bottles today to a level 2. she was screaming when she was drinking the level 1s - apparently the food was not coming fast enough for her liking... also - she has been eating more like 4 oz every three hours instead of three... she's going to hit 8 or 9 lbs soon :)

also - penn has decided that after her 4:30 or 5:00 am feeding she is ready t o be up - even if mom and dad aren't. we try and put her back to bed and she stays in her bassinet but just grunts as loud as she can. no tears - just grunting. the second you pick her up - she stops. kid is loud! i'm going to tape it tonight... it's impossible to sleep with this child... going to her own room next week!!! we are excited and scared and sad.. she still seems so small for that big old bed...

playdate with donovan!

donovan and his parents came over to have a bbq yesterday afternoon and we found out that 1 year olds are crazy. he is all boy and prettyy much jsut tumbles all over and bumps into everything - and none of it seems to bother him. here is a picture after dono took a header into a plant...
