what we've been up to - iphone photo dump

not sure what happened this year but 2014 has been insane... i'm a terrible blogger who has only posted any pictures when I'm on travel because i'm just not able to find the time at home.

 

we have a rarely seen free weekend so finally on sunday afternoon I'm taking a little advantage and going to try and catch up - and get over my blog guilt.

 

first up - a HUGE iphone dump from the last months - just going to call this one..

Charlotte loves her some Penny. She goes back and forth between thinking penny is hilarious and being scared shitless of her.

Penny's First "half" over

penny had her first sleepover a couple weeks ago for her one of her best friends bdays.

we did a "half-over" instead of a full blown sleepover. all the neighborhood moms agreed 5 is the age they can do sleepovers - so with penny and millie both four and penny 3 we did the half version.

penny was sooo excited about it for weeks.  she dressed up for the part and then we went to the store beforehand to bring balloons for all the girls - she told the florist all about the halfover that night, how excited she was, how it was her best friends bday, and was generally just pumped.

when we got to paytons the party started!  All the little girls were chatty little cathys - telling stories, talking about theiir special night.  They played games, ate pizza, had ice cream, gave presents then all changed into matching PJs that paytons mom bought- the night was a hit!  the girls had a blast playing with their friends, putting on fashion shows then watching movies in their jammies.

we came home at 10pm to only minimal tears - once one of the moms gets brave enough we will do this for real :)

Penny had another family observation week at dance class a few weeks ago - i LOVE watching her, it's awesome to see her dance and see what a big girl i have now!

this is the last time i get to watch her dance until her recital in june!

i swore my daughters would never dance - but seriously - look at her in this leotard and tell me she is not adorable :)

Christmas 2013 - Part 3 - Xmas Morning at home!

was so fun on xmas morning at home this year!

 

both girls were in great moods and loved their presents.

first thing we did was check and make sure santa ate his cookies and the reindeer ate their food :)

 

then on to presents!

Christmas 2013 - Part 2 - Mom's Side

For mom's side we did gamma's family the sunday before xmas and then went to gma/pawpaw d's on xmas day after we celebrated at home.

 

santa came on sunday and a certain little penny was super pumped!

 

was so fun to see all the kiddos together too!

Christmas 2013 - Part 1 - Dad's Side

Both girls were excellent at christmas this year!  they LOVED their presents and really just handled the chaos of the holidays well!

 

charlotte was a trooper and pretty much hung out wherever we were, played on her mat, napped and ate like a pro.  she obviously could have cared less about xmas but she sure loved her family time and had plenty of smiles to share.

 

penny was so fun this year - had so much excitement over presents and was so fun to watch her open.

 

she had 3 things on her list this year.

 

1. a bow and arrow (like brave).

 

2. dolls like aubreys (the little girl that she went to Disney with had little princesses she wanted)

 

3. and a pink big kid bike.

 

lucky girl got everything on her list and was so excited for it all! once I get videos to work will load some of those :)

5 months - Charlotte!

How? How is it possible?  How is my beautiful little baby 5 months old already!

Something is so weird about watching your baby grow up.  We  have always said we wanted two kids and we have 2 perfect healthly little girls and know our family is complete.  But every milestone Charlotte has feels so very weird and a little bit sad :(

and the latest - she is five months!! so many new accomplishments!!!

• first ear infection - this one isnt fun :( poor baby has her first ear infection as of today - but you would never know it - she is an amazing sick kiddo! i only knew because she had been pullin on that ear and scratching it so much it was bleeding :(
• Loves her sister - charlotte is getting so much more engaged with penny and she just loves her.  the first time she sees her in the am and the first time she sees her after school - he face just lights up.  she smiles and smiles, laughs at penny and follows her every move wiht those beautiful eyes! one day over break char slept super late so when she got up penny was already at school... poor little girl looked all over and was craning her neck all morning to find her sister :(
• Still talks all the time in her baby babble
• Still sucks on those 2 adorable fingers :)
• Starting to play with toys - grabbing them, putting in her mouth, very interested in stuff penny shows her
• Teething! A top tooth is coming in
• Eating! she is trying cereal now and a few veggies.  took her a little while to get the hang of it but she loves all food!
• Flaps her little arms like crazy when excited!

already wearing 6-9 month pjs and clothes.  A few 3-6 months fit still but it's getting close...

• We packed away the swing and got out the jumperoo - she LOVES the jumperroo!
• Blows spit bubbles and drools everywhere!
• still the best, sweetest, happiest little girl!!!
