radio silence!

sorry if it's been a little quiet around here - between crazy summer time, busy work schedule, fathers day, birthdays, and oh yeah, the fact that i'm 8.5 months pregnant, blogging is taking a distant back seat!

however, i am await past 8 pm, Penelope is content and we have a free evening, so time to catch up on some pictures and posts.

i'm doing this first on the lazy way - combining 3 weeks into 1 post - sorry bout it.

in a nutshell - here is what we have been up to around here:

hanging out with friends!!
Penelope and her neighborhood buddies have been having a blast - playing a few times a week.  we take turns alternating houses, the pool and what we order for dinner!  kids are having a blast, moms get good company, and everyone wins!

making smores!
it was camping week at school recently (okay like a month ago) and Penelope came home and asked for smores one night.  pregnant mommy was all to happy to agree to that for dinner! :)

hanging out with cousins!
aunt mary beth watched penny a couple weeks ago and they went "swimming" in the pool we bought logan for easter.  no one realized quite how small the pool is :)

even more pool time!!
we have been spending most Friday evenings at the pool - packing some turkey lunchables and spending 3 hours getting some kiddos nice and tired.  Mainly it's penny and payton on these nights.  I've yet to brave the camera at the pool - so all pictures are on our way out the door!

celebrating dad!
we had a great and low key fathers day.  had a day with daddy then saw both grandpa's on that sunday!  penny rocked a matching shirt with daddy (don't worry we got one for the baby sister too!)

getting too old!
Penelope is acting and looking older and older every day.  she just had her three year check up and is doing great.  about 31 lbs and 37 inches tall - growing like a weed!  she just seems soo much older to me lately - i can't even imagine how old she will seem when her sister gets here!  i love this picture :)  On the way to the magic house on afternoon with payton.

growing a miracle!
and oh yeah - in the midst of all this - busy growing this baby girl!  i'm 35 weeks pregnant now and our c section is schedule for exactly 1 month from today - August 6th - 4 more weeks and we get to meet our newest addition!  we are pretty ready to go  - and i know miss Penelope is getting anxious!!

okay - now you are caught up - i'll try and stay on top of things more for the next couple weeks... then come august - no promises!

a special perfect day

things that happen on your birthday, according to Penelope.

1. all your friends and family come over to your house for a pink princess party.

2. when you wake up there will be "balloons everywhere in every room of the house - in my bedroom, hallway, even in the bathroom. and lots of decorates"

3. after people sing happy birthday you get the first piece of cake.

4.  pawpaw will give you a pink car for your birthday.

this girl has quite the set of expectations huh?  and wouldnt you know it - all her birthday dreams came true :)

we celebrated penny's bday 2 days early and she it was pretty much the best day of her little life.  she went to bed excited and woke up soo early (5:15) yelling "mom is it my birthday yet - i see polka dot balloons - can i get up!"

turns out when you wake up on your birthday balloons really are everyone - lucky girl :)

then friends and family stared showing, presents arrived, a pinata was played with and the highlight o the party - the pink princess power wheel was delivered.

the girl was a non stop party machine from 5 am until 10pm and had the best day of her life.  she was actually pretty upset when she went to bed and realized her party was over... she had talked about it FOREVER (like seriously since Christmas) and was sooo excited for the big to finally get her.  when she woke up on the day after her bday.. she was a little heartbroken that the day was over... :)

you can see the pictures and judge for yourself... but i'd say the little 3 yr old got everything on her birthday wishlist and more :)

thanks everyone for making penny's birthday a memorable one - she had a blast and hasn't stopped talking about it a week later!

my three year old

my little girl turned three on Monday.  three years old.  officially a little kid, not even really a toddler anymore.  a little girl with opinions (lots of them), thoughts (which she often shares), a preschooler.  a little girl who tells the best stories, has the craziest imagination, makes up games and songs all day long, and who has the vocabulary (and attitude) of a thirteen year old.

a girl who is funny.  like really funny.  with incredible timing.  a girl who talks a mile a minute and whose brain works so fast that sometimes her little mouth cant' keep up.  a girl who loves the color pink, her best friend payton, who still carries pink puppy everyone, but is suddenly interested in jewelry and makeup and twirling dresses.

you are this incredible mix of toddler/big girl.  you get your feelings hurt easily, especially when mommy gets mad at you. and when you cry you look just like you did as a baby.  but you turn sassy in an instant and the looks you give shoot me forward 10 years down the road and terrify the crap out of us :)

penelope is no longer in daycare at susie's house, she officially in real 3 yr old preschool.  she goes four days a week (M/T/R/F) with a break on Wednesdays for what we call "grandma day".  she sees grandma h in the am and grandma d in the afternoon/evening.

she is all kid and all girl.  incredible sassy, defiant at times, unbelievably smart and just plain amazing.

and she is gorgeous.  I know i'm her mother but god that kid is beautiful.  those big eyes, perfect little skin color and adorable curly heair make for one beautiful child.  we are in for trouble with this one.

and for how difficult she can be most fo the time, she really is a good girl. she behaves in public, enjoys (and is good) at dinner and/or shopping trips, listens (most of the time), is very polite and has a huge heart.  she is very loving and tells me several times a day that i'm her favortie mom and how much she loves me.  she loves to take care of people who are sick and often tells me "it's alright, i'm right here... i'll always be right here"

she's an amazing big cousin who loves spending time with calvin and logan.  she helps feed logan, get him toys and always gently touching his face, or leaning over to kiss him.

and she is about to become the worlds' most perfect big sister.  she already loves her baby sister so much and has been amazing during my pregnancy. she was great when i was sick for the first few months and even now brings me my heartburn meds.  but the best is when she leans over my belly to talk to her sister. she kisses, hugs her, tells her she loves her and always calls her "litte rascal".  she likes to talk about the things she is going to teach her big sister and all the ways she is going to help mommy.  i can't wait to see her in this new role.

but most of all, i can't wait to see what the next year brings for my beautiful little three year old girl.  spirited doesnt even begin to describe penny so I'm sure we are in for our share of challenges, but it definately promises to be an entertaining year.

your mommy and daddy love you more than you could ever know penelope anne and we are soo proud of the little lady you are becoming.  you make us laugh every day and make me smile countless times.  one minute you can still look like the little baby i remember and then another i look at you and can't even believe that this little girl who seems so grown up and so perfect is mine.

you will always be our baby girl, our first child and the little angel who first gave your daddy and I pleasure of being parents.  you are our perfect girl and we love you to the moon and back beautiful.

grants farm with payton

penny and payton are loving this warm weather and getting to spend more and more time together.. both families decided to enjoy the nice morning and Saturday and head over to grants farm nice and early.  so glad we went early too - there was a HUGE line to get in the park when we were leaving at noon.

the girls LOVED being able to run through the park together and they are both finally stroller free which is a huge relief for the parents (although a short lived one for us :) )

they held hands everyone, loved pointing out all the animals, thought the train ride was awesome and really just had a blast with each other.  they play off each other like crazy - making up silly jokes, repeating each other, getting each other all wound up and excited... only downside -they share crabbiness bursts as well.

overall the kiddos did great, the girls had a blast and LOVED spending the day with their best friends.

some cute pictures of the girls (sorry Mason - it's all girls on this one...).

one of my favorite parts of having a girl (soon to be girlS!) :)
