week in review: instagram style

busy week/weekend as usual.

here is the roundup - instagram style:

1.  soo big... she looks so old here - it kills me :(

2. crafty time:  yarn letters for my stairwell..

3.  painting with water - i loved this as a kid - decided to try with penny on sunday since it was so nice... did not disappoint!

4. this kid loves her boots and her nakey time. why not combine the two?

5. yum yum!  you think someone likes FIRST WATCH pancakes???

6. crafty time part 2.  refinished desk.  started as an old rolltop...

step 1:  start with old desk.  sand and prime.

step 2:  make pretty!  repainted, added molding, 2 tone painting for main desk and drawers..

step 3: was wayy too blue.  looked like a little boys room. repainted to gray... much better!

more photos to come once all set up.  adding new knobs too!



weekly round up - instagram style

first off, i have to give penny a blog shout out.  she was AMAZING this weekend.  I actually dont think she even had one tantrum.  she ate well, napped well, slept well, behaved well, played well and was overall just an awesome little person.. i love those kind of weekends.  we didnt do anything fancy, just hung out at home with out little family, played outside, raked some leaves, played inside, walked gatsby, met some neighbors, grabbed lunch, but was one fo the best and most relaxing weekends in a while..

i'm going to be honest - usually by sunday night i'm beat.  exhausting from a long weekend and ready for a kiddo break - not so happy to go back to work, but usually happy it's time for daycare.

however.. last night.. i was thinking that i'm going to miss her this week :(

love you penny thanks for being awesome -mommy and daddy had a fun weekend with you baby :)

and now for the weekly round up...

1. mommy made homemade choc chip cookies this weekend.. and penny had her first experience with dipping. see how serious she is...

2. gatsby went to doggy daycare on friday for a break, he was alseep before i left the parking lot and before his head his the chair...

3.  playing in the leaves.. i love this picture- pure unabashed joy :)

4. penny apparently got hungry as mommy was reading the newspaper on sunday..

5.  boyfriend.. this is penny's "boyfriend" matthew.. hugs and kisses every day when she leaves daycare...

6.  whew... it's hard work being good all weekend :)

that smile...

there is nothing i love more than that smile.  although she has her "moments" of tough times and temper tantrums are getting to be a daily occurence, this child can still melt our hearts with her smile... it's perfect.

love you baby...

and that gorgeous smile is the only reason these faces are bearable :)

penelope was not a fan of anything halloween this year... except maybe the laffy taffy.

before we made her walk up a strangers driveway... full on tears after that...

as you can see - not many pictures- meaning it did not go well. penny was NOT a fan.  at all.  she screamed, she cried, she threw herself, she threw things...

i think my expectations were too high for a one year old.

we'll try again next year.

happiest back at home...

and of course eating laffy taffy :)

boyfriend?

i think penelope has her first boyfriend.

she is getting very close with matthew at daycare.

when i come and pick her up, so points to matthew and tells me his name "matt-u"

then she gives him several hugs before we leave.  i ask her to hug all the kids but usually only has eyes for matt-u.  she hugs, she leans in, she smiles, the occasional kiss.

she's smitten :)

a good mommy...

penelope has the makings of a good mommy...

1. she knows where important anatomy is...

2.  she is responsbile (i.e - taking care of her doggie)

3.  she has focus (it's hard work to chalk)

4.  she understands the importance of oral hygiene.

5.  she sticks to a regimented feeding schedule

6.  she knows approporiate positioning to ensure baby gets enough food.

7.  she gives great hugs :)

8.  she's starting to look like her babies (look at the big eyes on both of them!)
