some penny-isms

so my blogging leaves a litle something to be desired lately... apologies on that.  between work, family events and let's face it - a 2 year old- my free time is limited.

and if i'm being honest, once everything is done and penny is in bed, i'd much rather camp outo n the couhc with a glass (okay, bottle) of red wine and some real housewives.  sorry blog world.

however, in an attempt to catch up, i'm going to blog dump and shoot a few out in a row.

first up - some of my favorite penny quotes lately. I'm not sure I've ever really commented on here about how she just sort of exploded lnaugage wise. She has been talking so well for what feels like so long i dont even remmeber when she couldnt.  but the kid talks like 3 or 4 year old, with the sass and attitude of an adult.. makes for some hilarous conversations, great one liners, and depending on the words - some time out visits :)

here are a few of my recent favs from little chatty kathy:

(While writing me a "note"):  "Dear mommy, dear daddy, dear penny, dear grandma. the end"

"i'm paying the attention" (when walking down the stairs)

"ACTUALLY, it's mine" (arguing with me :))

as we were walking into target yestserday she cuddled up to me tight and says "I keep you warm because i love.  i love you mommy so i keep you warm"  (melt me freaking heart.  she's good. she's real good).

(yelling at bedtime when I tried to take her milk cup downstairs):  "no no no. my milk. I need it now and I need it for NEVER" (she was so serious about this one. I'm not going to esxplain the diff between NEVER and FOREVER)

(while coloring with me and kris): "great job mommy.  great job daddy." pause. "say great job penny!"

she is so into her "family" and who is in her family and my new favorite thing is she'll say "mommy my family, daddy my family, time for family hug!"  and she'll put an arm around each of our necks and pull us close.  it's pretty adorable.

and one of her best ones likes night:

me: "alright penny, lets go read our bedtime books"

penelope: "not today.  how bout tomorrow mom?  how bout tomorrow?"

finally, she is very into reading the bedtime books (once i convince her up there) all by herself.  one fav is "Giraffes can't dance". We take turns reading pages and she must have memorized teh words becasue she does SOOOO good and knows several lines.  These are her and my favs:

"I dancing, yes i dancing gerald cried!"

"his knees were awfully crooked"

another thought is maybe she didnt memorize but she's just a genious who can read...   i'm sure that's it.
