playing pretend

no photos in this post... just a little story about playing with my girl last night.

lately penelope has been very into playing pretend. i love love love that she is using that little imagination and applying things she learns from us or others to her little words of toys.  yesterday started off all about babies as usual.  she kept pretending her baby was crying.  she'd bring her baby to me and say "she cying she cying"  then she'd looking at the baby lovingly, rock it "like a baby" then give it a paci, followed by a baba or blanket, followed by a kiss and a big hug and she says "dont cy baby, dont cy"

it's precious.

once said baby was calmed down she moved on to another.. then she expanded to other things.  next up was Gatsby.  she'd tell me "gabby cy. he cying" then she gave him a bottle, a kiss and a hug and said "dont cy gabby baby, dont cy"

next up was me.  she told me to cry then when i fake cried i got a paci a hug and  dont "dont cy momma baby"

i love that girl.

and i love that she not only knows pretend she also already knows compassion.  if you are sad or need a hug - just tell penny you are crying - she's your girl for some comfort, and what i must say are the best hugs I've ever had the pleasure of receiving.
